On any given week, I get several emails from people asking me “How to succeed in network marketing?”
This in itself is not out of the ordinary – Andrew and I started our online business in the network marketing industry and made 7 figures before the age of 30.
In fact, we were still in our 20's when our network marketing business exploded after discovering the power of lead generation through our own blog. So my answer to them is, “Be sure to have a blog.”
To give you a quick rundown of how to succeed in network marketing by using a blog, in a nutshell our blog/website did the initial prospecting for us, funneling out the best prospects which left us with only the most serious of prospects.

How to Succeed in Network Marketing Using A Personal Blog
There are 3 main reason why you need a blog if you are a networker.
In fact, all the top networkers and network marketing influencers all have a blog.
Why? Because having a blog provides the ultimate leverage.
Blogging as Lead Generation
First off, it helps you to automate the initial prospecting.
If you are running ads for your business, or even contacting people personally, it is important that you have some sort of website or blog to send your prospects to.
You want the blog to let them know more about you, a little about the company you promote and the most important aspect is to offer them something in exchange for their email address.
Once you have their email address you can automate an email sequence (the use of an autoresponder) to follow up with them at least 7-15 times. This reminds them of what they were initially searching for and keeps you and your company in the forefront of their minds.
There is a stat that says people need to see something 7-12 times before they make a decision.
Prior to blogs and email marketing, the only way you could really do that was through direct mail or calling someone and following up with them over and over again, but really…who wants to do that? And imagine how long that would take!
Using your blog this way is a smart way to prospect and frees you up to talk to only the most interested of prospects. In fact, now they are also able to reach out to you after digesting the information on your blog and in your emails without pressure.
This is leverage.
How To Succeed In Network Marketing: Connection and Attraction Marketing
A blog also allows them to see what you want your prospects to see. It allows you to put your best foot forward, to introduce yourselves to them and allows them to form a connection with you as a person first and foremost.
People buy things from people that they “know, like, and trust.” Your blog allows you to build this relationship and on your prospects own time and surprisingly, without your active involvement.
I know that because we used our blog as a connection tool, we had pages that told our story, we shared pictures of our home life, and we also did a lot of content rich videos on our blog for people to consume.
Often when we would finally get a phone call from them (an inbound lead), meet them in person at a conference or an event we were speaking at, they would tell us that they felt like “they knew us already” This “connection” and it's impact on your business is invaluable.
A Blog is The Ultimate Tool in Attraction Marketing
Lastly, if you don't have a blog, you rob yourself of differentiating yourself from all the rest of the sponsors in your company. You need to be able to stand out, have you own voice and show people why it would be different working with you.
You can do this all with a blog.
